Thomas Pickels - Dedicated IT Management Leadership

Thomas Pickels has an extensive leadership background in IT and professional services, and delivers solutions in diverse areas of enterprise operations. As a member of BMC Software’s Customer Success & Professional Services division, he directs sales efforts across the Western United States and Canada. Thomas Pickels has capably met the needs of clients in industries such as communications, retail, supply chain, utilities, and financial services.

Mr. Pickels started out in the technology sphere with Accenture, where he oversaw complex technology projects with many moving parts. These included setting up a AT&T call center and delivering consumer relations management solutions across multiple clients. He fulfilled a $7 million application managed services contract that supported Duke Energy’s Enterprise Asset Management system. Building on a IBM Maximo platform, he delivered tier two support across several years’ engagement.

Mr. Pickels subsequently spent 8 years with the Duke Energy Corporation in roles such as IT manager and IT supplier relationship manager. The contracts he handled included Dell, Oracle, Connection, and IBM, and he oversaw supply chain team efforts centered on strategically renewing $75 million in Microsoft and BMC contracts. His supplier relationship governance efforts included contract changes, service delivery, and innovation. Focused on fitness in his free time, Thomas Pickels is active with a local running club and enjoys hiking in the mountains.
